Green Spaces
There’re loads of gardens within Bloomsbury to explore, walk the dog, or to take a meditating stroll. Near the University of London‘s main buildings and the British Museum lies Russell Square (which is almost exactly a square).
Or maybe have an adventure at Bedford Square Garden instead.
Just a two minute walk from the Foundling Museum is the Coram’s Fields. There within the seven acres you’ll find a children’s playground, sand pits, a pets corner, café, and a nursery.
If you’d prefer somewhere a bit quieter, St. Andrew’s Gardens provides walking paths within a peaceful public garden.

Education
Thomas Coram Centre is a lovely nursery for 3 to 5 year olds. But if you’d rather your child/ren learn somewhere for the long term, consider Argyle Primary School (3-11), École Jeannine Manuel (3-18), and St. George the Martyr Church of England Primary School (3-11).
The Children’s Hospital School teaches 4 to 18 year old inpatients at the bedside and in the main schoolroom area at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). So if your child/ren is too ill to go to school and requires constant hospital care, this could be the place for them.
Even though Conservatoire for Dance and Drama (CDD) is a higher education institution, they still run dance and drama short courses, summer schools, weekly classes, and they work with schools for younger people. In Bloomsbury, the Place (London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS)) offers dance classes and courses for people from 18 months to 19 years old. So if your child/ren is interested in the art of dance, why not consider taking part in their Dance for Young People (summer dance courses for people from 18 months to 15 years old), classes and courses (Saturday classes (5 to 15 years old), midweek contemporary classes (teens), weekly shuffle dance company (9 to 14 years old), and shift dance company (14 to 19 years old), and/or schools (tailor-made dance and cross-curricular projects for primary schools (7 to 11 year olds)).
At CATS College London (15-24), 71% of all of their A-Level students (in 2021) achieved at least one A or A*, so you know your child/ren will get good grades.
Westminster Kingsway (WestKing) College (16+) is a higher learning institute which covers courses from human resources to music, construction to childcare, and science to fashion. But if you want to attend a sixth form, college, or higher education institution that is solely about the subject you love, consider Conservatoire for Dance and Drama (CDD) for courses covering the performing arts, or the Mary Ward Centre for those who dream of learning and working in a real hospital.
When it comes to universities, there’s a whole collection to choose from. The University College London (UCL) has lots to offer, including courses at University College London Hospital (UCLH). The University City London Institute of Education (IOE) has their own library for their students to take advantage known as the University City London Student Centre. Other universities in Bloomsbury include: Birkbeck (BBK) University, BPP (Brierly Price Prior) University London Holborn, Goodenough College, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and the University of London.
